London Gatwick – Christmas train disruption

Are you flying with WOW air to or from London during the Christmas period? Then you will have to plan your journey carefully to and from Gatwick.

Rail improvement works over Christmas and New Year will seriously affect train services to and from Gatwick from 22.00 on 24 December through to 2 January 2014.

During this time Network Rail will undertake vital improvement works on their network replacing a major rail junction near Purley, upgrading signalling at Victoria and working on a new platform at Gatwick Airport station.

There are no train services to and from Gatwick on Christmas Day; however National Express will be running a bus service to and from London.

During the Christmas and the New Year period, replacement bus services and diversions could add up to two hours to journey times.

It may be easier to drive and park at Gatwick rather than take the train. If that’s not possible we do advise you to plan your route carefully, check before you travel and allow extra time to get to the airport if you are travelling by public transport.
